Puntland Government security forces, known as the PSF, have posted photos of blind people they say were arrested in a planned operation in Bossaso.
Security forces have been conducting security check-ups in Bossaso, the capital of Bari region for the past few hours, which has hosted a number of insecurity incidents.
A statement from Puntland Intelligence said that individuals linked to al-Shabaab and Daish were arrested and identified as being in Bossaso, the commercial capital of Puntland State.
In a statement published on the PSF, the Puntland security forces stated the following:
“Puntland Security Forces (PSF), which has been conducting security operations in the city of Bosaso in recent times, has carried out security operations in the city of Bosaso last night (22 March 2020). wanted to be referred to those groups hiding in the mountains of Cal Black and Cal Miskaat.
The PSF command said operations in Bossaso continue until security is tightened and the fight against al-Shabaab and Daish is ended.
On October 17, Puntland security forces also arrested individuals suspected of having links with Al-Shabaab and Daish fighters who were fighting in some parts of Puntland.
