Former UN envoy to Somalia Augustine Philip Mahiga Dead

Tanzanian media reported this morning that former UN envoy to Somalia, Ambassador Augustine Mahiga, had died.

The Tanzanian government has also confirmed Mahiga’s death, following a sudden illness that resulted in his death.

Former UN envoy to Somalia dies was the UN envoy to Somalia from 2010 to 2013, which had an impact on the country’s internal affairs.

He was also Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Dodomo government.

Tanzania, which is currently struggling with Covid-19, has not yet revealed the exact cause of the death of Augustine Mahiga, who died at a hospital in the capital city of Dodomo after being stricken at home.

Mahiga’s condolences go to the President of Tanzania, John Magufuli, and send condolences to his family and friends, noting that his government is deeply saddened by the death.

Augustine Philip Mahiga, a senior diplomat, has worked in many countries and was born on August 28, 1945.
