US Senator Ilhan Omar of the United States Congress has reached a major political milestone after winning a vote online.
Ilhan has won the 1st round of the ballot in her party’s nomination for the 5th District seat on her current seat in the upcoming Congressional elections in November.
The vote went on for nine days, and Ilhan Omar won the race for a black man, Antone Melton, who was strongly opposed.
According to the results of the House of Representatives, Ilhaan Omar received 65.5% of the vote, while Antone Melton received 30.9%.
She is 37 years old and has made history in the United States, becoming the first Somali American to hold the position.
By the end of this year, the US presidential election is set to end, with Trump’s long-standing presidency in the presidency, with Ilhan Omar once again likely to return to her seat.
