Somalia president Mohamed Abdilahi Farmajo releases 148 prisoners

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, who is strengthening efforts to prevent the spread of the disease, has release the President’s amnesty to 148 convicted prisoners.

The president issued the amnesty  following a report on the state of prisoners in the country submitted to the Attorney General of the Federal Parliament, Suleiman Mohamed Mohamud.

Also, the President of the Republic instructed the commander of Corrections in collaboration with the Ministry of Health in its efforts to put the safety of substantive health of prison inmates in the country, in order to prevent health risks looga and they are vulnerable.

In accordance with Article 90 of the Provisional Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia, the President extends to these pardons the President’s pardon, while ensuring that not all of them are convicted of serious crimes.

This waiver will not affect civil rights will be enforced by the Office of the Attorney General in accordance with the provisions of our Code.
