Afgoye police commander shot dead by suicide bomber

A recent explosion near the Lafoole area in Lower Shabelle region has killed a police officer in Afgoye district.

The explosion which occurred between Hawa Abdi and Lafoole killed the late Abdulkadir Osman Nunow and three of his bodyguards.

It is not known who is behind the killings of Nunow, and no one has yet claimed responsibility, but most of the bombings in the area are carried out by al-Shabaab.
