A Somali herdsman, narrowly escaped death after being attacked by a leopard

A Somali herdsman, identified as Mustafa Abdi, narrowly escaped death after being attacked by a leopard in rural Somalia.

According to local sources, the predator ambushed Mustafa while he was tending to his livestock. The leopard inflicted minor injuries before villagers rushed to his aid. In the struggle that followed, the animal was killed.

Mustafa sustained only light wounds and is reported to be in stable condition. Community members say the incident has raised concerns about the increasing danger posed by wild animals in pastoral areas.

Leopard attacks on herders remain rare, but experts note that conflicts between humans and wildlife are becoming more frequent as communities expand into animal habitats.
